Program Details
The MuSkLE PhD programme is designed to train 55 doctoral candidates over multiple calls, with 18 positions available in the current round. Research topics span muscle biology, development, regeneration, disease mechanisms, and interdisciplinary approaches involving biology, physics, mathematics, and more. Candidates can choose from a diverse list of projects, such as muscle disease mechanisms, neuronal vulnerability, cartilage homeostasis, obesity-related muscle changes, and therapeutic targets for muscle atrophy. Applicants may select up to three projects or propose their own, provided it aligns with a supervisor’s expertise.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to international students who meet the mobility rule (limited prior residence in France)
- Age: No specific age limit
- Background: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field required before starting the PhD
- Requirements:
- Must not already hold a doctoral degree at the application deadline
- Should not have lived or worked in France for more than 12 months in the last 3 years (exceptions for compulsory national service or refugee status)
- Strong academic record, research experience, and motivation
