Program Theme
The 2026 Forum’s theme is “Committed to the Future We Want.” This event builds on previous MAB Youth Forums and aligns with the Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan (2026–2035). Participants will focus on tackling biodiversity loss, climate change, and advancing sustainable development. The Forum aims to:
- Engage youth in implementing the Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan, especially Action Target 20.
- Translate survey findings into shared priorities and innovative solutions.
- Exchange youth-led practices in biosphere reserves.
- Foster leadership and capacity-building among young actors.
- Produce actionable recommendations for MAB governance at all levels.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to international applicants from all countries.
- Age: 18–35 years old.
- Background: Must be actively engaged in or connected to UNESCO Biosphere Reserves (living, working, studying, volunteering, researching, or supporting related activities).
- Requirements:
- For National MAB Youth Focal Points: Official confirmation letter, experience statement, contribution plan, follow-up plan, and travel funding status.
- For MAB Youth Participants (Open Call): CV, experience statement, contribution and outcome plan, follow-up plan, endorsement letter, and travel funding status.
