The European Forum Alpbach 2026 brings together students, young professionals, and changemakers to explore the most pressing issues facing Europe and the world. The program features scientific, competence-based, and artistic seminars, along with high-level conference sessions and interactive studios. Participants will engage in discussions on topics such as power, activism, change, Europe’s place in the world, and the mainstreaming of extremism, all while experiencing the unique culture and natural beauty of Alpbach.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to applicants from all countries and disciplines
- Age: 18–30 years old (18–35 for citizens of the Global South) at the time of the forum
- Background: Students, young professionals, artists, non-graduates, and changemakers are encouraged to apply
- Requirements:
- Must be a first-time scholarship applicant to EFA (virtual attendees in 2020/2021 may reapply)
- Fluent English (minimum B2 level, with supporting documentation)
- Upload the most recent academic qualification or employment record
- Commitment to attend the full duration of the forum (early departure only allowed from August 31 in exceptional cases)
- Applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds, minorities, LGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities, and refugees are strongly encouraged to apply
