Program Details

The REFFRACTEUR Doctoral Network offers 15 PhD positions covering a wide range of topics in refractory materials, including digital product passports, life cycle assessment, AI-driven quality control, microstructural engineering, virtual laboratories, and decision support systems for sustainable steelmaking. Each position is jointly supervised by academic and industry partners, ensuring practical and research excellence. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Open to all nationalities (subject to MSCA mobility rules)
  • Age: Early-stage researchers only (no more than 4 years of full-time research experience after obtaining a Master’s degree at the time of recruitment)
  • Background: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Materials Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or related disciplines
  • Requirements:
    • Must not have resided or carried out main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the host country for more than 12 months in the last 3 years (short holidays excluded)
    • Strong written and spoken English skills
