Program Theme
The 2027 residency will culminate in the IWW Literary Festival, centered on the theme of “Inheritance.” Writers are encouraged, but not required, to explore how their work relates to this theme during the festival.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to writers residing outside of Hong Kong
- Background: Applicants must have at least one published literary book with a recognized press (self-published works are not eligible)
- Language Requirements: Functional command of English or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Residency Requirements: Must be available for the full duration (26 February – 25 March 2027), attend the Welcome Ceremony, and participate in the Literary Festival
- Application Materials:
- 1-page, single-spaced Artist’s Statement in English or Chinese (with English summary if in Chinese)
- 10-12 pages of recent literary work (with English or Chinese translation if necessary)
- CV or resume
- Contact information for two referees
- All documents in 12-point font with 1-inch margins, submitted as a single PDF
