Program Details
- Support ongoing work on urban resilience and resilient infrastructure in the Arab States.
- Conduct desk reviews of strategies and policy documents related to urban development, climate change adaptation, infrastructure planning, housing, and local governance.
- Assist in designing and analyzing surveys, interviews, and questionnaires to assess integration of urban and infrastructure resilience into planning frameworks.
- Collect and analyze both secondary and primary data through interviews and consultations with key stakeholders.
- Identify and analyze gaps in integrating urban resilience and disaster risk reduction (DRR) into development frameworks and sectoral policies.
- Research good practices for localizing DRR and urban resilience in the region.
- Draft analytical summaries, background notes, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Prepare knowledge products, including presentations, briefs, and communication materials.
- Ensure cross-cutting themes such as disability inclusion and sex-disaggregated data are reflected in outputs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to international students and recent graduates.
- Academic Background: Must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

- Requirements:
- No prior professional work experience required, but a field of study related to the internship is necessary.
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to conduct policy analysis and desk research is desirable.
- Experience or familiarity with urban resilience, disaster risk reduction, or climate adaptation is an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic is required.
