Program Details
The residency is designed to promote international literary exchange and foster friendships among writers from UNESCO Cities of Literature. Participants will engage in local events, festivals, and cultural activities, and are expected to produce literary work during their stay. Writers will also create a short piece inspired by Wonju or Korea to be submitted during the residency.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Open to writers from UNESCO Cities of Literature or those with a close connection to a City of Literature
- Language Proficiency: Upper-intermediate level of English or Korean
- Experience: At least 5 years of creative writing experience and at least one published work (in English or Korean translation)
- Requirements:
- Willingness to participate in local literary events, meetings, interviews, and festivals
- Consent to interviews and photo shoots for promotional purposes
- Interest in Korean culture and literature
- Attendance at least one local literary festival or exchange event during the residency
- Submission of a short creative work on the theme of Wonju or Korea during the 6th week
- Active literary production during the residency
