The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship is designed for mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership potential. Fellows participate in academic coursework and professional experiences at one of approximately 18 selected U.S. universities, grouped by thematic and subject affinities. The program is administered in partnership with the Institute of International Education (IIE) and aims to build lasting professional ties between the U.S. and participating countries.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Pakistani citizens only
- Age: Not specified, but must have 8-18 years of professional experience
- Background: 16 years of education (4-year Bachelor’s or 2-year Bachelor’s plus a Master’s degree)
- Requirements:
- 8-18 years of progressively responsible professional/work experience
- High fluency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to public service
- Guarantee of re-employment upon return to Pakistan
- Ineligibility:
- University teachers or researchers without management experience
- Those who attended graduate school in the U.S. in the last seven years
- Those with long-term U.S. experience within the last five years
- Dual U.S./Pakistan nationals or those with immediate family (spouse, parent, or child over 18) who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Employees of the Fulbright organization or U.S. Department of State
